A Unique Celebration and Party Venue in Washington DC

Friends Meeting of Washington’s simple, elegant reception and party spaces in the heart of Washington DC are the perfect venue to celebrate special occasions and life’s transitions.

Many expectant parents and brides-to-be have also found our spaces the perfect place to celebrate their milestones. And our reception and party spaces are ideal for celebrating graduations, anniversaries as well as birthdays for all ages. Depending on the size of the event, either our Assembly Room or Quaker House Living Room — potentially combined with our gardens — offer the perfect party venue for these celebrations.

We have been a beloved venue for memorial services and celebrations of life since the early days of the AIDS crisis in the 1980s. In fact, we were one of the only houses of worship in Washington DC to welcome the family and friends of AIDS victims into our spaces at that time. We’ve also provided space to funeral homes for their clients to celebrate their loved one’s life. Families often hold their memorial service in our Meeting Room followed by a reception downstairs in the Assembly Room. For smaller memorials, the Quaker House Living Room offers the perfect space for reflections on the deceased individual’s life.

Finally, the lack of religious symbolism in our spaces makes us perfect for bar and bat mitzvahs or other religious celebrations.
